New Zealand Steel President Simon Linge named Zane Hamilton and Gemma Johnson of Waiuku College and Mathew Impey of Howick College winners of a New Zealand Steel Undergraduate Scholarship.
Praising the calibre of all entrants this year, the judges were particularly impressed with Zane, Gemma and Mathew and, being unable to distinguish between them, have awarded three scholarships.
Zane will study Engineering at Canterbury University; Gemma will study Science / Technology at Waikato University and Mathew will study Engineering at Auckland University.
Background to the Scholarship:
The main purpose of the Scholarship is to support students wishing to pursue careers in science and engineering.
Value: $3,000 per annum and paid summer vacation work for up to four years.
