New Zealand Steel Welcomes BlueScope Board

The BlueScope Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team visited the New Zealand operations in March. This was particularly significant as it is the first time they have had the opportunity to do so since 2017, a result of cancellations with lockdowns in recent years.

The Waiuku College Kapa Haka welcomed the group onsite at the Glenbrook Steel Mill and their programme included a business update, plant tours of both the Steel Mill and nearby Waikato North Head Mining Site as well as BlueScope’s Otahuhu based Pacific Steel manufacturing facility. An evening event with staff, customers and community partners concluded the visit.

This was an excellent opportunity to showcase the NZ division of the Bluescope portfolio and share how New Zealand Steel supports the community while introducing the Board and Executives to many of the local people who make the business what it is. Our success relies on communities supporting our business and products, and, in turn, we care for the environment, respect local values and encourage involvement.
