New Zealand Steel conducts site tours for Schools and Universities; we are no longer able to offer plants tours for the general public. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.
If you have a particular interest in a plant or area on site, please let us know at the time of your enquiry.
New Zealand Steel is a 24/7 operational site; the safety of visitors and our employees is our top priority. There may be unforeseen changes in our operational areas which could restrict access for tours. The final decision on what is included on the tour will be made by the Tour Guide at the time of the tour.
All tour participants /visitors need to be of reasonable fitness as the tour involves a lot of stairs and walking. In the interest of safety, NZ Steel reserves the right to refuse entry to our site to anyone in a state deemed unfit by our Tour Guides. Wheelchair access is not available on site in operational areas.
Visitors are expected to respect Company property and staff at all times. The Tour Guide/Manager can stop the tour immediately and escort the group off site if necessary.
All tour group participants must remain with the Tour Guides at all times. The group must NOT leave site at any time during the tour unless it has been organised prior to the visit.
All visitors are required to wear:
- Full-length trousers & shirts i.e: No stockings, tights, ¾ trousers, dresses, skirts, T-shirts or singlets.
- No head gear i.e: No hoodies, beanies or caps.
